20 Sep Austrade invited ArtChain Global to China on a Blockchain mission
Austrade recently invited ArtChain Global to China as part of an Australian delegation on a ‘Blockchain Mission’. The mission has been organised by Austrade in partnership with the Australian Digital Commerce Association (ADCA), the Department of Industry, Innovation and Science (DIIS) and Melbourne Blockchain Centre.
The delegation included 30 Aussie companies, lawyers, start ups and established businesses who visited various fin tech operations, banks, the launch of the new Blockchain Centre in Shanghai and two days of the Wan Xiang Global Blockchain summit.
Covering 5 days in Shanghai the group started at the new Blockchain Centre which had its official opening on 9th of September. Cameron MacQueen, our COO, was on a panel of industry experts from China and Australia that morning discussing blockchain ecosystems and opportunities.
The trip included a visit to Dianrong China’s HQ – a fintech unicorn utilising tech to transform financial services in China followed by Ant Financial – the parent company of AliPay, who have 800 million customers – discussing their plans and experience using Blockchain technology.
Along with the Wan Xiang Global Blockchain summit – an excellent opportunity to hear the latest from developers, implementers and different industries applying blockchain and to network with people from around the world – we also attended the Australian Consul General’s private home for dinner!
